Top 5 reasons why your muscles CRAMP

Muscles are controlled by your nervous system and generally speaking are either contracted or relaxed. When they are relaxed nothing special happens. However, when a nerve impulse is sent to a muscle, sodium rushes out of the cell causing the muscle to contract.

Muscle Cramping is an abnormal state for the muscle fiber because it stays contracted... which can be very painful !

1. Poor circulation - no oxygen means abnormal muscle function.

2. Electrolyte imbalance - cells cannot function without proper electrolyte balance.

3. Excessive perspiration - this depletes sodium, potassium, and calcium.

4. Medications - IE diuretics

5. Poor Flexibility
